Day 30

Another night with out smoking…

It feels odd, I totally think I am missing out on things that I used to be part of… no more standing out side for a while with the my buddies drinking a beer and having a smoke or 2. No more random meetings with friends and neighbors as they come and go when I was outside getting a puff. Seeing people walking their dogs or jogging by, I feel like I am less a part of the community already and it’s only been 2 weeks since I began seriously cutting back.
Home alone
Its funny, the daytime is no problem and the evenings seam to be fine, it is 10pm at night when everyone else is in bed, I am finishing up my game or some TV and still habitually want to go have a smoke. I know it is not a physiological urge, it is all habit… but that doesn't make it any easier to deal with  ;)
I wonder what kind of dog Pavlov had...

So I will just have a drink of a tall glass of water and go to bed...

Ohh were you expecting something?

  1. A nice tall glass of blog usually helps out with those cravings. Especially when served up with a side of judgement if we found out you cheated. :P

  2. ohh i just got a great idea to mess with your boss!!

on one of the sides of his desk or chair, put like a thick piece of paper or something so so its not even and it moves.

  3. don't give up man! you can still visit with your neighbors and stand outside with your buds while they smoke... unless the temptation is too much? keep on keepin' on though

  4. Well you miss your neighbors but you have us... ok, not the best argument but you'll come out with some new idea to get the contact back without the smokes.

  6. You could be like this weird old lady I saw who was sitting in the middle of an extremely narrow pathway (making people go around her) watching the History building on my campus with a pair of binoculars. If you want fresh air and community involvement :P

  7. Try taking a walk when you would normally smoke. Gets you out and about in the same time window, but no cigs.

  8. Of course we were expecting something but you are right about the social act of smoking and having to stay away for the moment.

  10. Yeah, I hear you. Smoking is often a social activity. The first time I tried to quit, I'd catch myself walking outside and then just standing there like an idiot.
